Afghanistan is set to clash against Team India in the second T20I match. The clash is scheduled to be played on September 16 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Ahead of the match, Afghanistan's veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi is set to achieve a new record in his international career. He is just four scalps short of completing 300 wickets in international cricket.
So far, Nabi has 296 wickets in 334 international matches for Afghanistan. His best bowling figures are five wickets for 17 runs. Over the years, he has been one of Afghanistan's greatest contributors in international cricket.
On the other hand, Team India's mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy is likely ruled out of the remainder of the series due to an injury. The injury has also put him in doubt for the upcoming Asian Games 2026.
"It is a fresh injury. He is out of the series," said a BCCI source.
So far, there has been no confirmation from the board.
Recently, Chakaravarthy recovered from the hamstring injury that he suffered during the tour of England.
