India pacer Arshdeep Singh has been named in the North Zone squad for the upcoming Duleep Trophy which will be played at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bangalore from August 23. The 15-member squad will be led by Jammu and Kashmir wicketkeeper-batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan, while Ayush Badoni has been appointed as the vice-captain.
Arshdeep, who is a regular in India’s white-ball set-up, gets another opportunity in red-ball cricket after being part of the Test squad during the 2025 England tour. However, he did not make his Test debut on that tour.
Jammu and Kashmir, who won Ranji Trophy last season, have the biggest representation in the squad with six players. Along with captain Wadhawan, Qamran Iqbal, Abdul Samad, Abid Mushtaq, Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh have all been selected.
Haryana’s Anshul Kamboj has also secured a place in the squad. Sanat Sangwan, Yash Dhull, Ayush Doseja and Badoni will represent Delhi.
The squad also features all-rounder Nishant Sindhu, spinner Abid Mushtaq, and all-rounder Arjun Sharma to give North Zone a balanced combination for the tournament.
North Zone squad: Kanhaiya Wadhawan (C), Ayush Badoni (VC), Sanat Sangwan, Qamran Iqbal, Yash Dhull, Ayush Doseja, Abdul Samad, Nishant Sindhu, Arjun Sharma, Abid Mushtaq, Arshdeep Singh, Sunil Kumar, Anshul Kamboj, Yudhvir Singh, Nikhil Kashyap.
