According to Sky Sports Germany, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are the two clubs leading the race for the 18-year-old talent. Also Bayer Leverkusen remains in the mix for the Nigerian.
Bundesliga target Yohanna’s strong start to 2026 campaign
Yohanna, who is under contract with AIK until December 2029, is enjoying a breakthrough 2026 season. He has been in sensational form recently, recording four goals and three assists in his last six appearances.

Yohanna primarily operates on the right wing for AIK, where the left-footed attacker enjoys cutting inside to score or assist goals. Born and raised in Bauchi, Nigeria, he was signed by AIK in June 2025.
He made his professional debut for the club on August 17, 2025, appearing as a late substitute against IFK Göteborg. Just three days later, Yohanna earned his first start in a Svenska Cupen qualifier against Hudiksvalls FF, playing the full 90 minutes in a dominant 7-0 victory.
His clinical nature in front of goal became evident on March 9, 2026, when he scored his first two goals for the club in a 4-0 cup win over BK Häcken at the Strawberry Arena. He followed this up with a headed goal against GAIS in the Svenska Cupen quarterfinals, though AIK was ultimately eliminated following a narrow 2-3 defeat.
Orlando Pirates: Three new signings on the way? Full list revealed
Orlando Pirates appear to be laying the groundwork for a new-look attack, with reports linking the club to three exciting signings ahead of next season.
The Buccaneers are believed to be closing in on Siwelele FC winger Bohlale Ngwato, while also holding advanced talks with Golden Arrows duo Siyanda Ndlovu and Ayabulela Maxwele.
ORLANDO PIRATES EYE NGWATO AS FUTURE STAR
Ngwato, a 20-year-old from Garankuwa, has quickly made a name for himself after breaking into the Siwelele first team earlier this year.
The right-sided left winger, nicknamed “John Wick,” has featured in just six matches since his debut in February but has already caught attention with his fearless, direct style of play.
His rise gathered further momentum when he picked up his first Man of the Match award in a goalless draw against Marumo Gallants, underlining his growing influence at top-flight level.
Reports suggest Pirates are now closing in on securing Ngwato’s signature as part of a long-term plan.
The move comes amid strong indications that Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis could both be heading abroad. Mofokeng has delivered 11 goals and eight assists this season, while Appollis has matched that impact with 11 goals and nine assists, form that has inevitably attracted interest beyond South Africa.

Ngwato, who interestingly wears Mofokeng’s number 38 jersey at Siwelele, is seen as a potential successor, having followed a similar pathway through the DStv Diski Challenge before stepping up to the Betway Premiership.
BUCCANEERS TARGET NDLOVU AND MAXWELE
At the same time, Orlando Pirates are also pushing to strengthen their options with Golden Arrows midfielders Siyanda Ndlovu and Ayabulela Maxwele.
Ndlovu, 22, has been one of the standout creative players this season, contributing four goals and seven assists in 25 appearances. Known as “Skhwishi,” the Dannhauser-born playmaker has built a reputation for his ability to unlock defences, combining sharp dribbling with a keen eye for a final pass.
Maxwele, 25, offers a different profile. The Mthatha-born midfielder, who has three goals and two assists in 26 games, is valued for his intensity, work rate and versatility, capable of operating as a central midfielder or drifting wide when needed.
Should both deals go through, the duo would add depth and competition to a Bucs squad that already includes attacking talents like Sipho Mbule and Patrick Maswanganyi.
There is also a sense of familiarity in the negotiations, with Orlando Pirates and Arrows having built a strong transfer relationship over the years. Several players, including Thamsanqa Gabuza, Siyabonga Sangweni and Nkosinathi Sibisi, have successfully made the move from Durban to Soweto.
