Ninty fans must be hungry for Metroid Ravenous pre-orders, as the special edition with its exclusive amiibo is already sold out

Quick pre-orders:
Metroid Ravenous pre-orders dropped this week, and 'ravenous' seems the apt word to describe fans of the classic Nintendo series, as the Switch 2 game's special edition is already sold out across US and UK retailers.
The $119.99 / £99.99 version of the game includes a physical Switch 2 copy, a steelbook case, and an exclusive amiibo showcasing Samus's slime-green colored Metroid suit. So far, that appears to be the only way to grab that amiibo, though there is also a Chozo Statue and another Samus NFC figure up for grabs. For amiibo completionists like me, the lack of stock is a bummer, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that more Special Editions will drop as the months roll on.
In the meantime, you can alternatively grab the game digitally or physically for $69.99 / £58.99 straight from Nintendo and a myriad of US and UK retailers, all of which I've gathered below. Sure, you won't get an amiibo just by sticking to the physical copy, but there are no signs of that hideous game-key banner on the box, which is something. No matter which copy you pick, you can dine with Samus when the Switch 2 exclusive launches on January 28 next year.
Pre-order Metroid Ravenous in the US

Amazon | In stock - $69.99
Amazon US was early to the party with its Metroid Ravenous pre-orders. You can pick up a physical Switch 2 copy for its full $69.99 price at the retailer, and bookmark the game's amiibo listings while you're there.View Deal

Nintendo | In stock - $69.99
If you prefer to secure the latest Switch 2 games straight from Nintendo, the US online store has the digital, standard physical and special edition listed. However, stock of the fancy special version of the game has already sold out with no signs of a re-stock.View Deal

Best Buy | In stock - $69.99
Best Buy's Metroid Ravenous pre-orders have been live practically since its initial Nintendo Direct unveiling came to an end, and there's still plentys tock to go around. The Special Edition is stuck with a "Coming Soon" label unfortunately, but there's every chance more stock might drop soon.View Deal

Walmart | Check stock
Walmart was one of the first US retailers to list two of the new Metroid Ravenous amiibo figures, yet the actual Switch 2 game has yet to appear. I'll be sure to update this page when pre-orders drop.View Deal
Pre-order Metroid Ravenous in the UK

Nintendo | In stock - £58.99
The official Nintendo UK store has got the trifecta of Metroid Ravenous pre-order options, including digital, physical and the special edition. However, you're only going to find the digital and physical Switch 2 copies of the game in stock for now.View Deal

Amazon | Check stock
Amazon UK seems to be a bit slow to the game of listing its Metroid Ravenous pre-orders, but that's nothing new. Sometimes it takes a few days for new Switch 2 games to drop, and I'll be sure to let you know the second it does.View Deal

Very | Check stock
Metroid Ravenous pre-orders have yet to drop at Very, but that can be pretty typical. The underrated UK retailer is occasionally late to list brand-new releases, but if or when does you can bet it'll bring a competitive price to the table.View Deal

Currys | Check stock
There's no sign of Metroid Ravenous at Currys today either. However, the UK retailer is bound to drop its pre-order link the closer we inch towards the Switch 2 game's release date.View Deal

'The modern workplace runs on fear ... today we are fighting fear': Fired Grand Theft Auto 6 dev calls out Rockstar in impassioned pre-trial speech
The Independent Workers of Great Britain union held a rally today in Glasgow, Scotland to mark the beginning of the final workplace tribunal hearing that will resolve the case of 31 former Rockstar employees who were fired by the company in October 2025.
The dispute turns on the cause of the terminations, or lack thereof: Rockstar says the employees were fired for leaking information about "upcoming and unannounced" games in a public forum, while the IWGB says it's plain-and-simple union busting, and that Rockstar further erred by firing the employees immediately rather than following a disciplinary process or granting the former employees any opportunity to appeal. The fired employees are seeking a ruling declaring that their terminations were unfair, along with reinstatement or compensation.
"We believe Rockstar has tried to get away with Grand Theft Employment Rights," IWGB union president Alex Marshall said. "After a year of fighting to get answers, we hope this tribunal will finally back them into a corner and bring the truth to light. As the world gets its first proper look at GTA 6, this hearing will give people a chance to look behind the scenes at what happened to the workers who helped make it."
One especially powerful moment at the rally was a speech given by former Rockstar programmer Rachel Crawford, who worked on Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, and was among the employees terminated in 2025.
Closing out the rally, @nershly.bsky.social beautifully speaks about her experience being fired by Rockstar and how they try to use fear.

"The modern workplace runs on fear. Fear of speaking out. Fear of being punished. Fear of being fired, losing your livelihood and even your home.
"On October 30 2025, I was fired by Rockstar Games. I was fired without warning and without even being given a clear answer as to what it was I'd done to deserve it. Within minutes, I was out the door, feeling humiliated and ashamed, and ever since I've replayed that day in my head, wondering what I could or should have done differently.
"On that day, fear asserted its dominance. I felt its claws deep in my heart, urging me to run with my tail between my legs and never to look back. I saw it in my former colleagues, too afraid to talk to me or even, in some cases, to look at me. I heard it every time the ones who did speak to me told me how powerless they felt to do anything to stop or undo what had happened, even though they knew it was wrong.
"Fear wants to rule us. It closes our minds, our hearts, and our horizons. It makes us small, sad and hopeless.
"But today, we are fighting fear. This long-awaited hearing is an opportunity to put fear in its place below us. Over the next five weeks we will face fear and show that we refuse to be silenced by it. In spite of fear, we will stand up proudly, speak our truth, and demand a better industry—a better world—that we all deserve.
"And we're not just fighting fear in the courtroom. Many of my former colleagues at Rockstar Games have taken up the union's flag and are now pushing for the recognition, protection, and power that fear has denied them for too long. Fear will not defeat them and it will not defeat us. Union makes us strong."
The hearing is set to run until October 16, just over a month ahead of the console release of Grand Theft Auto 6, which happens on November 19. The union and fired workers are asking people not to boycott the game, saying in August that "we spent years pouring our hard work, skill, and creativity into making GTA, and we want people to experience the universe that we helped build." Instead, supporters who want to do a solid for the cause are encouraged to contribute to a fundraising campaign launched by the IWGB in support of the legal action against Rockstar.

England bat Pakistan out of third Test before Robinson moves in for the kill
Brook, Lawrence and Smith miss out on centuries
Ollie Robinson takes two wickets in first over
Friday is the only sold-out day of this third Test but whether that translates into a full house at Edgbaston remains to be seen. Much like the series itself, the contest is long since over, set in motion by Pakistan’s howling collapse on the first day and then compounded by England’s ruthlessness on the second.
Although for all that England’s march to a 3-0 clean sweep seems a formality, there should in theory be a fair chunk of cricket for ticket-holders to enjoy. Joe Root’s men are eight wickets away from enjoying a weekend at leisure, with Pakistan, set to resume on 52 for two, still 268 runs away from making them bat again.
