أعلن نادي الشحانية تعاقده مع الجناح عبدالرحمن فهمي لمدة موسم واحد على سبيل الإعارة من نادي الدحيل. وأوضح النادي، في بيان عبر حساباته الرسمية على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، أن فهمي انضم للفريق استعدادا للموسم الرياضي 2026 - 2027 بعد الاتفاق مع نادي الدحيل الذي يملك عقد اللاعب.
وأشار البيان إلى أن اللاعب عبدالرحمن يعد إضافة فنية كبيرة للفريق في مركز الجناح الأيمن ووسط الملعب والهجوم. وكان عبدالرحمن فهمي قد لعب أساسيا للمنتخب الوطني الأول في السنوات التسع الأخيرة وتوج معه بلقبي كأس آسيا لكرة القدم 2019 - 2023.

The partnerships involve Qatari Diar, Aspire Zone Foundation, Doha International School, GWC, Fitogether and Fusion Group Holding, with each organisation taking a specific role in supporting the club’s long-term development.

Earlier this year, Lusail SC had launched a new five-year strategy aimed at developing sporting talent and strengthening institutional growth, following the football team’s historic promotion to the country’s top division - Qatar Stars League (QSL) - for the 2026-27 season.

Lusail SC chairman Nawaf Al Mudhahka had described the club’s football team’s promotion as a major milestone in the club’s long-term development strategy.

The club yesterday said the partnership agreements align with the Lusail SC's strategy to build a comprehensive and sustainable institutional sports system and strengthen partnerships with various sectors supporting sports and youth.

This step is in line with the vision and directives of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Qatar Football Association, and the Qatar Stars League (QSL). It contributes to developing the sports system, enhancing governance and sustainability, expanding the fan base and participation, supporting talent and future generations, and contributing to the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, it stated.Lusail Sports Club Chairman Nawaf Mohammed Al-Mudahka with officials representing Aspire Zone Foundation Subsidiaries.

Qatari Diar has joined as a strategic partner, with the partnership strengthened by the shared connection between the company and Lusail Sports Club to Lusail City. The collaboration is expected to support the club’s growth and strengthen its role as a sporting institution reflecting the identity and ambitions of the city.

Aspire Zone Foundation Subsidiaries have also become strategic partners. The collaboration will allow Lusail Sports Club to benefit from Aspire’s expertise in sports, services and operations, while enhancing the club’s professional and institutional capabilities.

Doha International School joined as the club’s academic partner, supporting its efforts to link education and sport.

GWC has been named the club’s logistics partner. Its expertise in logistics services and solutions will support the club’s operational requirements and the management of sporting activities and events.

Fitogether will serve as the technology partner, supporting the club’s use of data and technology in player development. Its solutions will help technical staff monitor and analyse player performance, improve training programmes and support decision-making.

Fusion Group Holding has joined as the talent and youth development partner, supporting the club’s academy and junior programmes. The partnership will focus on identifying and developing young talent and creating a pathway for promising players to progress to higher levels.

Al Mudahka affirmed that these agreements represent part of a broader club strategy based on building long-term partnerships with institutions and companies that share the club’s vision and ambition. He added that Lusail Club seeks to build a modern model for a sports club, one that is competitive on the field and institutionally strong in its operations.

Lusail SC will begin their QSL campaign with the opening clash against Al Rayyan at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Thursday at 7.30pm.

Doha, Qatar: Al Duhail are stepping up preparations for the 2026-27 Doha Bank Stars League as they look to improve on last season’s fifth-place finish and make a stronger challenge for honours.

The team, coached by Algerian Djamel Belmadi, began their preparations in Doha before travelling to the Netherlands for an intensive training camp. The programme has focused on fitness, tactical work and improving the understanding between the players.

Al Duhail collected 33 points from 22 matches last season, finishing fifth with nine wins, six draws and seven defeats. They also had the league’s best defensive record, conceding only 27 goals.

Striker Mobarak Shanan said the initial focus of the preparations was on reaching the required physical level before moving into tactical work.

“The training sessions started with fitness-focused drills. More focus was placed on the fitness aspect as we tried to reach our fitness limit. Then, of course, we moved into tactics and how we will play our style of play this season,” Shanan said.

The forward believes Al Duhail have the squad to compete for every title.

“We have one of the strongest squads in the Gulf. Our goal this season is to try and win all the championships. We will compete for all the championships and in every match, we will give 100 percent effort,” he said.

Defender Lucas Silva believes the team are progressing well after beginning their preparations in Doha before travelling to the Netherlands.

“We are in good shape. I think the physical aspect has reached a good level. We are trying to get fit quickly, and we know we have important factors ahead of us,” Silva said.

He added that the experience gained by the club’s international players will prove valuable during the season.

“We are on a good path and in good shape. International matches bring experience, and with this experience and our combined matches, I believe we can achieve our goal by the end of the year. It will not be easy, but we are trying,” he said.

Algerian international Adil Boulbina said the intensity of the camp has helped the players prepare across all areas of the game.

“The training was intense. We work on all aspects, from every angle. Every player is taking responsibility and we are preparing with total seriousness so we can be ready for the matches and enter the league strongly,” Boulbina said.

Goalkeeper Fahad Younis Baker highlighted the importance of the physical programme, with the squad also completing gym sessions before training.

“We have morning and evening training sessions. Before every session, we have a short workout in the gym, partly as preparation and partly for strengthening, so the team will be ready for the new season,” he said.

Baker also pointed to the strength of the squad, noting that Al Duhail have seven players from the Qatar senior national team alongside high-level foreign professionals.

Qatar international Bassam Al Rawi said the players understand the demands of the pre-season camp and the importance of following the programme closely.

“The hardest part is always the preparation period. Fitness and the physical factor make a difference when you return to the league. We are following a schedule and sticking to it,” Al Rawi said.

Al Duhail will begin their league campaign against Al Sailiya on August 22, with the team hoping their intensive preparations under Belmadi will translate into a strong start.
