أكد الشيخ أحمد بن نوح آل ثاني، أمين السر العام للاتحاد القطري للفروسية والخماسي الحديث، أن المغفور له بإذن الله صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، طيب الله ثراه، وضع برؤية ثاقبة الأسس التي قامت عليها مسيرة التنمية الشاملة في دولة قطر، من خلال نهجٍ ارتكز على بناء المؤسسات، وتمكين الكفاءات الوطنية، وترسيخ مقومات التقدم المستدام.
وقال إن ما تشهده دولة قطر اليوم من مكانة مرموقة وإنجازات متواصلة في مختلف القطاعات يجسد الرؤية الاستراتيجية التي تبناها سمو الأمير الوالد، والتي جعلت من التخطيط بعيد المدى، وجودة الأداء، والتميز المؤسسي ركائز أساسية في مسيرة الدولة.
وأضاف أن القطاع الرياضي حظي باهتمام كبير ضمن هذه الرؤية، الأمر الذي أسهم في تطوير المنظومة الرياضية، وتعزيز قدراتها التنظيمية والفنية، وتهيئة البيئة الملائمة لتحقيق النجاحات، بما رسخ مكانة دولة قطر مركزاً عالمياً للرياضة واستضافة كبرى البطولات الدولية.
وأشار إلى أن رياضة الفروسية والخماسي الحديث كانت من بين القطاعات التي استفادت من هذا النهج، عبر تطوير البنية التحتية، ودعم الكفاءات الوطنية، وتعزيز الحضور القطري في مختلف المحافل الإقليمية والدولية، بما يعكس الرؤية التي أولت الرياضة اهتماماً بوصفها رافداً من روافد التنمية الوطنية.

Zamalek have reportedly shown interest in appointing Spanish coach Pablo Franco, but contact has taken place only through intermediaries and no official offer has been submitted, his agent said.

Hamid Bouzidi said that Zamalek are among three clubs interested in Franco. The other clubs are Moroccan sides Wydad Casablanca and RS Berkane.

“Zamalek have only contacted us through intermediaries, and we have not received any official offer so far,” Bouzidi said.

Franco left Maghreb de Fes after leading the club to the 2025-26 Moroccan league title. The championship ended a 41-year wait for the club’s fifth domestic league crown.

The White Knights are considering appointing a foreign coach to replace Motamed Gamal, although the club has not formally announced Gamal’s departure or named a successor.

Gamal’s position has remained uncertain since the end of the season. He had been waiting for the board to decide whether he would continue as head coach or join the staff of a foreign replacement.

The Egyptian coach received offers from clubs outside Egypt but delayed a decision while awaiting clarification from Zamalek, according to local reports.

Gamal led Zamalek to the 2025-26 Egyptian Premier League title, the club’s 15th championship and its first in three seasons.

He also took Zamalek to the CAF Confederation Cup final. The Cairo side lost to USM Alger in a penalty shootout after the two legs finished 1-1 on aggregate.

Doha, Qatar: Seattle braces for another World Cup chapter as co-hosts USA attempt to finally overcome Belgium and book a place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-finals.

The kick-off is scheduled at 3am, Qatar time.

For the Americans, it is also an opportunity to reach the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time since their memorable run at Korea and Japan 2002. Standing in their way is the same Belgian side that ended the United States’ World Cup dream in Brazil 12 years ago.

The Stars and Stripes enter the contest riding a wave of confidence after an impressive campaign under Mauricio Pochettino. They have scored at least two goals in every match at the tournament, recovering from a group-stage defeat to Turkiye before dispatching Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in the Round of 32. وقال الشيخ جوعان في رسالته «بمزيد من الرضا والتسليم لمشيئة الله تعالى، ننعى الوالد والمثل الأعلى والموجّه، سيدي صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني يرحمه الله. لقد ودعنا رجلا اختصر في مسيرته كبرياء أمة ونهضة دولة، وشعبا لم يكن يفارق خياله وعقله يوما فجعل من اسم الوطن عنوانا للمجد والريادة في كل محفل».
وأضاف «حظيتُ بالنشأة في مدرسته والاستظلال بظله فلم يكن مجرد قائد أدار دفة الحكم بحكمة واقتدار، بل كان نموذجا في العطاء الصامت والأبوة الحانية التي اتسعت لشعبه قبل أبنائه. وإن أثمن ما أملك وأكبر إنجاز أعتز به في حياتي هو أنني عشت معه وتنفست من فيض حكمته، وكم يتملكني الفخر والامتنان اليوم أن عيالي وأحفاده الذين أتيحت لهم بركة العيش معه والاقتراب منه في آخر سنوات عمره قد لحقوا بنبع هذه المدرسة العظيمة وأنه كان لهم موجها ومعلما لينهلوا من قيمه ومبادئه الراسخة التي ستبقى محفورة في وجدانهم».
واستكمل قائلا «لقد بدأ مسيرته في كفاح ونضال طويلين شقّ بهما الصعاب ليصنع واقعا كريما لبلدنا فلم يلتفت يوما للمستحيل ولكنه حوّل الأحلام البعيدة بعزيمته الصادقة وقوة إرادته إلى حقيقة نعيشها اليوم، وحتى في الأيام التي كان فيها حاكما وتحت وطأة مسؤولياته الجسام تجاه أمة بأكملها، لم يشغله ذلك عن بيته وأسرته فكان يقتطع من وقته ليغمرنا برحمته ولطفه الشديدين، وكان في هيبته وعظمته إنسانا بسيطا جدا يأسر القلوب بقربه وتواضعه الكبير».
وتابع «تعلمنا في مجلسه أن القيادة مسؤولية وأمانة وأن كرامة الأوطان تبنى بالإخلاص والتضحية وتصان بالثبات على المبادئ. ولم تكن تربيته لنا تخلو من الحزم الأبوي عند عثراتنا ليقوّم مسارنا ويعلمنا الصواب ويصنع منا رجالا قادرين على مواجهة الحياة وحمل الأمانة»، مضيفا « أشعر اليوم بالامتنان العميق لأنني كنت تلميذا وخادما له وأني كنت محظوظا في هذه الدنيا لكوني نشأت ابنا له في عائلته الصغيرة وابناً له أيضاً في أسرته الكبيرة كمواطن قطري عاش تحت قيادته التاريخية».
وقال سعادته «إنني كمواطن قطري قبل أن أكون ابنا، أرفع العزاء والمواساة لكل بيت في هذه الأرض فقد كان رحمه الله أبا حقيقيا لكل «هل قطر» ومن يعيش على أرضها يعرفهم حق المعرفة ويعرف عوائلهم وآباءهم ويذكرهم بجميل مآثرهم. لقد كان نهجه «قطر قبل الكل» وهي عقيدته ومبدأه الذي عاش ومات عليها فكما قال بلسانه يوماً: «هي أول ما وقعت عليه العين، وأول ما التصق به الخيال». لذلك، تتماهى اليوم أحزاننا كعائلة وتذوب في فاجعة وطن بأكمله يبكي والده وقائده».
وأضاف «ورغم أن الجسد قد غاب فإنه حي فينا لم يمت باقٍ بإرثه ومبادئه وسيرته العطرة التي لا يطويها الغياب، ورغم أن هذا الرحيل المفجع يترك في نفوسنا فراغا عظيما لا تسده الكلمات فإن عهدنا الصادق له هو أن نستمر على مسيرته ونصون هذا الإرث العظيم الذي تركه أمانة في أعناقنا. وتستمر دولة قطر اليوم بخطى ثابتة وعزيمة راسخة تحت القيادة الحكيمة لسيدي حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المُفدى، حفظه الله، الذي يواصل حمل الأمانة بالنهج السديد ذاته لتبقى رايتنا دائما عالية شامخة».
واختتم نعيه «أسأل الله العلي القدير أن يتغمد فقيد الوطن الكبير وباني نهضته بواسع رحمته وغفرانه وأن يتقبله في عليين مع الأنبياء والصديقين وأن يجزيه عن قطر وعن الأمتين العربية والإسلامية خير ما يجزي عباده المخلصين»، مضيفا «يرحل الأبرار وتبقى مآثرهم حية، ونعاهدك يا ملهم الوطن أن نظل على عهد الوفاء نكمل المسيرة لتبقى بلادنا دائما كما أردتها.. أولا، وقبل كل شيء».
